Simmons, a plumbing company established in 1964 by Ronald “Moose” Simmons, has grown under the leadership of Brad Allegood. Brad, who started as Moose’s helper, took over the company in 1981 and expanded it from his mom’s garage to its current location. With his three sons now involved in the business, Brad’s oldest son, Beau, oversees day-to-day operations while Kyle and Jason work in the field, preparing for future roles. Having personally experienced various aspects of the business, including cleaning copper fittings and handling trash as a summer helper in 1996, I continued to work part-time while completing my education at Kempsville High School and Old Dominion University. After graduation, I became a lead installer and obtained certifications as a Master HVAC and Master Gas Fitter.
