CMHUSA formerly became a standalone company in 2015, branching off from NB Properties & Development, Inc., organized in the early 1980s. Prior to the 1980s the founder first worked with General Electric factories as a graduate industrial engineer and worked in development for Virginia’s largest housing authority at that time, became licensed as a class A contractor in 1986, and became the sole owner of subdivisions beginning in the 1990s.
The founder, V.A. (Bud) Baker, strongly advocates building homes in a controlled environment, and engineering the homes with significant advantages the new homeowner would not otherwise get.
