As a Part-Time Traffic Control Specialist with ECI, you ensure the safety of the public and workers by installing and maintaining work zones. We are looking for safely focused and committed members to join our team. ECI works with utility and construction companies across the US to keep our nation’s infrastructure reliable.This is an entry-level position that provides the opportunity for advancement. The specific work location is in the greater Charlottesville, VA area. This position is part-time with the opportunity to become full-time.Please note we are gathering interested candidates for this position, and you might not hear from recruiting for several weeks.Pay Range for this role is $18-$19.00, depending on relevant education and experience.WHAT WE OFFER:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Install traffic control devices including cones, signs, barricades, and other equipment.
• Utilize Automated Flagger Assistance Devices (AFADs) and other specialized equipment.
• Control traffic by flagging, installing lane closures, and setting up safe work zones.
• Communicate effectively with team members and construction/utility personnel.
• Execute traffic control plans to local, state, and federal requirements.
• Maintain equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.
• Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

• Valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with working in a team setting.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities and show attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to change.

WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:

• Familiarity with traffic control procedures.
• State or nationally recognized work zone certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Previous experience working outdoors.
• Bi-lingual speaking (English and Spanish).

Working EnvironmentWork alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, and city environments; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.
