Job description: Job Brief.Our team is looking for an experienced Superintendent to coordinate and manage on-site activities of our construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. As the “Face” of MEB on the project site, you will ensure delivery of successful projects to owners, in the safest manner possible, on time and on budget with the desired level of quality. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with various project stakeholders, including Project Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Foreman, and Field Personnel. To succeed, you must ensure MEB’s core values are being lived on the project every day and that quality, health, and safety standards onsite are your top priority.If you are organized, able to work well under pressure, and have experience in this field, we’d like to meet you!Core Areas of Responsibility.
Specialized Project Leadership: Direct the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Collaborate with environmental engineers, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications meet the stringent requirements specific to water infrastructure.
Performance and Compliance Management: Set and enforce project timelines and performance standards. Ensure all activities comply with environmental and safety regulations.
Team Supervision and Skill Development: Manage and mentor site teams, including specialized subcontractors and consultants. Focus on building expertise in construction techniques among the team.
Operational Reporting: Keep all stakeholders informed with detailed progress reports and adapt project plans based on ongoing evaluations. Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making.
Safety and Environmental Stewardship: Uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. Implement proactive measures to mitigate environmental impact and ensure the health and safety of the workforce and surrounding communities.
Resource Coordination: Efficiently manage the logistics of specialized equipment and materials. Optimize resource use to prevent delays and cost overruns.
Site Management: Maintain impeccable site conditions to support optimal safety and operational efficiency. Ensure all protocols are followed to minimize environmental disturbances.
Emergency Response and Risk Mitigation: Proactively address onsite emergencies and technical challenges. Develop contingency plans to maintain project continuity and safety in response to unforeseen events.
Regulatory Adherence and Documentation: Ensure all construction activities adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. Manage documentation and permit acquisition processes diligently.
Skills You Possess.
Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role.
Technical knowledge associated with aboveground and underground piping systems, cast-in-place concrete, process/industrial equipment, sitework, and other miscellaneous building features.
Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites.
In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to lead and inspire.
