Trusted.The Marketing and Communications team focuses on promoting SPA and develops and executes strategic marketing plans to enhance its visibility and reputation amongst prospects and the clients SPA serves in Defense, Intelligence and Homeland Security.SPA has an immediate need for a Director of Content Strategy who wants to be part of a company who for 50 years has informed decisions that have strategic and lasting impacts on national security. This role is open to our HQ in Alexandria, VA or could be remote. Responsibilities:We are seeking a visionary leader with a deep understanding of content creation, distribution, and measurement, who can effectively communicate our mission and drive engagement with our target audiences. As the Director of Content Strategy, you will be responsible for shaping and leading our company’s content initiatives across multiple platforms and formats. This is a strategic role that requires balancing of hands-on content creation with high-level strategy, project management, and team leadership.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Content Strategy: Create and execute a content strategy that aligns with the company’s mission and supports the company’s business goals, enhances brand awareness, and engages key stakeholders.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of content creators and other creative personnel to produce high quality content.
  • Content Creation and Management: Oversee the content calendar and the production of high-quality content across various formats (articles, blogs, white papers, videos, social media posts, podcasts, etc.) and ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with members of the Marketing team, Growth team, and Divisions to ensure content initiatives are integrated with broader marketing campaigns and business objectives.
  • Content Performance and Analytics: Utilize SEO best practices and content analytics tools to guide strategy, improve content performance, and increase visibility.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including subject matter experts, industry influencers, and partners, to enhance content relevance and reach.
  • Brand Management: Ensure all content aligns with and reinforces the company’s brand identity, values, and messaging.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for content creation and distribution.
  • Content Trends: Stay up-do-date with content trends, client preferences, and advancements in technology that may affect content delivery and consumption.

Qualifications:Required:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in content strategy and development.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful content marketing strategies for B2B audiences.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong ability to translate complex information into engaging content.
  • Experience leading and scaling a high-performing content team or working with contractors.
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various internal teams and external stakeholders.
