The is looking for a Chief Engineer to join their property operations team! This beautiful, 269-suite hotel is less than two miles from Reagan National Airport within a mile of the Pentagon City, Crystal City Shops, and the Pentagon City Metro station. As a Chief Engineer, you will oversee the functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.In this role, you will report to a complex Director of Engineering and oversee a union team of four engineers plus one painter. If hired into this position, you would expect to spend 75% of your time on the floor with your team and 25% of the time attending to administrative tasks in an office setting. *Available benefits may vary depending upon property-specific terms and conditions of employmentWhat will I be doing?As a Chief Engineer, you will oversee the functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specific responsibilities of the position may include:
- Directs general construction and the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and safety
- Ensures that the operation/maintenances of the physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds are in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Assigns, verifies and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system
- Communicates with city/county/state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members
- Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff
- Takes ownership of various administrative responsibilities such as inventory ordering, scheduling and payroll
